What is Roster Champ?

Roster Champ is an online tool for quickly creating baseball & softball hitting and fielding plans for a whole game.

Roster Champ is unique because it allows you, the coach, to see who’s played where and for how long. Our hope is that Roster Champ will help you meet your skill-building goals for each athlete on your team.

Why do I need Roster Champ?

Our charter as coaches of youth sports is to foster a love for the game. At Roster Champ we believe that there’s a “win” in the game for every athlete, whether that means pitching a no-hitter or playing second base for the first time.

If you’re familiar with coaching baseball or softball you already understand the time commitment and complexity of setting hitting and fielding schedules for a whole game. It can take a good coach up to an hour per game with 2-3 games per week.

If you’re new to coaching, you’ve recently been entrusted with 12-15 young athletes with varying skill-levels and aspirations. You need to slot them into 9 fielding positions for 6-7 innings per game. You’ll also have to consider a fielding schedule that utilizes all the athlete’s talent, considers who you’re playing against, and gives your skill-building athletes a chance for growth.

Roster champ eases the burden on coaches by structuring the approach to game planning, providing all the right information at your fingertips and remaining flexible - ensuring timely changes when the pressure’s on.

No. Roster Champ is a mobile-first progressive web application (PWA) built so you don’t need to download an application from the app store. Lots of great companies such as Spotify, Starbucks, Uber, Flipboard, OneNote, etc. use web applications just like Roster Champ. Is Roster Champ secure? Who can see my lineups?

Access is controlled by sign-in, all data is encrypted, and you control who else can view/edit your team’s lineups - such as an assistant coach. This is a tool exclusively for coaches so parents and other teams cannot view your data.
